Showing Cavaliers in Conformation

The beautiful cavalier makes a wonderful show dog.  More than just a beauty contest, conformation shows help breeders compare and choose which traits they wish to continue or change in their line.  Conformation is the foundation for all other sports.  Function follows form.  A well balanced, structurally sound dog can easily compete in other dog sports’ venues.

The following WestView dogs are being shown or getting ready to be shown in conformation shows.  Please see the “Our Champions” page for those WestView dogs that have finished their conformation title.

Above:  Meet Myra—WestView’s Myra Lee.  This is Maggie’s daughter from her last litter.  Absolutely beautiful tri girl.  Myra at her very first AKC big dog shows at Mad River Kennel Club and Licking River Kennel Club shows in October 2010 took 1st, Winners, Best of Winners, and Best of Opposite Sex all three days for her first points.  Friday and Saturday they had Best Puppy competition and Myra took 1st in Puppy Group on Friday and 4th in Puppy Group on Saturday.  We also entered Myra in a UKC conformation show, Myra quickly earned her UKC Champion title and is ranked 7th in the country in UKC.

Wye Zoe Parties at WestView, Zoe.  Wonderful, pretty Zoe has  started her show career with mainly puppy matches.  Zoe is not as outgoing as her cousin Myra and really prefers sitting on laps or watching TV.  Ernie is currently training her in obedience.  She will be getting out more for conformation competition in 2011.
